A straightforward install into an existing opening is usually a one day job. If the chimney breast needs opening up, a new hearth laying or a beam fitting, allow two days. We tell you which it is when we quote, not on the morning we turn up.
Most older properties around here do. A stove pushes out far less heat up the chimney than an open fire, so an unlined flue can cool the smoke, slow the draw and let tar build up. A flexible liner solves it and makes sweeping easier.
You can still have a stove. We fit twin wall flue systems that run up through the property or out and up the outside wall. Come to us with the room and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing.
Yes. We can supply the stove or fit one you have already bought. If you have not chosen yet, tell us the room size and we will point you at something that suits it rather than something oversized that you end up running with the door open.
Opening up a chimney breast is dusty work, there is no way round that. What we can control is how it is handled: sheets down, doorways covered, and the room cleared and swept before we leave.
We do. Rope seals, glass, baffle plates and general checks are all standard work for us regardless of who fitted it or when.
